Album : Rockefeller Center
On a space as large as 15 acres (6 hectares) located between the 58th and the 51st Streets, and the 5th and the 6th Avenues, an ensemble of 14 skyscrapers were erected in the 1930s, known as the Rockefeller Center, constituting then a real urban ensemble in the heart of Manhattan. A work of architect Wallace Harrison, the Art Deco ensemble underwent afterwards an enlargement towards the north and the west.
