Album : Upper West Side
A quarter that used to be mostly disadvantaged, it had been a sinister place between the crisis in 1929 and the 1970s, Upper West Side was, at the second half of the 20th century, an object of a politic of great works destined to eradicate the misery bags. At that time, the district acquired a reputation of anticonformism, of social tolerance, militantism and political activities. It’s indeed the most casual sector of Manhattan, a lot less high class and reflects more the “left wing” compared to its twin on the eastern side of Central Park.
