The landmark of four row houses (originally, the number had been nine) with Corinthian pillars were constructed in 1836 with a Greek Revival style, on the Lafayette Street (then called Lafayette Place), just in the south of Astor Park. The ensemble is actually something like Regent Park in London, comprising originally of twenty seven marble pillars. They were built by the Sing-Sing prisoners.This photo has been viewed 1875 times
