Starting at Columbus Circle (59th Street), on the southwest angle of Central Park, the 8th Avenue takes the name of Central Park West, the name it keeps until it arrives at the north end of the Park, at the level of the 110th Street, today still called Cathedral Parkway / Central Park North.
