About this photo...
Fort Tryon Park (sometimes written Fort Tyron) was created in 1927 by Frederick Law Olmsted Junior (son of Central Park’s architect and designer) following the demand of John D. Rockefeller, then landlord of this forest once inhabited by the Wiechqaesgecks Indians. The park was given to the city in 1931.This photo has been viewed 412 times
