A beautiful Palladian-styled residence, built in 1765 by an English colonel named Roger Morris on the heights dominating Manhattan and Harlem River Valley. George Washington stayed there during the Independence War. Millionaire Eliza Jumel purchased the house in 1810 and decorated it with the Empire style.
